The Top 10 Reasons Why People Really Hate Their Job And What You Can Do About It

Working from 9 to 5 is a myth.

You wake up exhausted at 6 in the morning turning off your alarm clock lamenting to go to work. You take a nice hot bath, cook some pancakes and bacon, drop your kids off at school or daycare and go to work.

You’re still stuck in traffic at 6:30 in the evening and by the time you get home, you’re so exhausted that you don’t even have the energy to cook a healthy dinner for your family so you order pizza.

Night after night, you have trouble going to bed as your mind keeps racing how sad you feel that you don’t have enough time to spend with your family.

All this time, you watched your little cute baby now become a teenager and you wonder where did all the years go by and you wish that time can be reversed.

When you think about the thousands of dollars that you spend on a college degree to end up getting a job that you hate makes you even more resentful.

Burning money

Something keeps telling you to be thankful that you have a job, a roof over your head, and food for your family so you should stop being so negative.

But it’s impossible to be positive when you’re in a toxic work environment surrounded by miserable coworkers.

I remember when I used to work at Roy’s in Hawaii and one of my co-workers said, “Same shit every day.”

Having no experience working at a restaurant, my co-workers bullied me rather than help me.

I also remember I told my Executive Chef at Indigo in Honolulu that I can’t work on Wednesdays and his response was that I’m going to show up to work every day or he will give me a very low grade on my internship. I shook my shoulders and I said okay. Then he yelled at the top of his lungs to “GET OUT!”

My goodness, he wasn’t very friendly.

I stormed out of the restaurant crying and one friendly, handsome line cook came after me. But I kept on walking.

The only thing I looked forward to at Indigo was eating lunch from their buffet.

This is the reality of what a job really is:

You are given a paycheck in exchange for your happiness.

Let’s unveil some of the reasons why people hate their jobs:

10 Reasons Why People Really Hate Their Jobs

1. You are not valued or respected as an individual. 38% of women said they experienced sexual harassment at the workplace.- NPR.org

2. When you ask for the proper tools or some guidance, you get verbally abused.

3. Your employer couldn’t care less about your personal life and they have zero sympathy for your other responsibilities besides your job.

4. Your boss is like Adolf Hitler or doesn’t know how to do their job properly, yet you can’t make more money than him.

7. It almost feels like you’re a slave working overtime for a measly paycheck and your employers don’t appreciate your hard work.

8. You’re disgusted that wages keep on going down and about 15% of your paycheck goes to murder lives in various parts of the world.

9. You have to be careful of every word that comes out of your mouth and every move that you make because some shady individuals can’t wait to backstab you to get you fired.

10. There’s no job security. Youthful and more cost-efficient people are replacing the jobs of hard workers who gave their job their all for over 20 years and are unfairly getting laid off without warning. Because they don’t have the skills that are needed for the new age, many make the decision to go back to college at the age of 45 or more.

No wonder why you hate your job so much.

Being in a situation like this is actually more serious than you think because it starts to affect your mental health and every aspect of your valuable life.

There’s a reason why many people refer to a job as “Just Over Broke.”

Millionaires create multiple streams of income including internet marketing and renting or flipping real estate.

This may take 18 months, but you will reap the fruits of your labor if you take your business seriously and work as hard as you did for the man. You should be working harder because now you will be working to make yourself rich, not someone else.
